At Clawford Lakes, we have the kind of walks that make tails wag so you can be sure your four-legged friend will enjoy their time here as much as you do. Whatever your choice of accommodation, there’s a dog-friendly option at no extra charge and our 98-acre estate offers lots of easy walks. There’s even a dedicated lake for dogs to enjoy a paddle too. Of course, you must remember to respect the wildlife, fisherman and other guests sharing the estate with you.

Surrounding the estate, our picturesque corner of Devon has quiet country lanes, waymarked trails and leafy bridleways, so there’s no shortage of walks where the dog can explore every smell and you can breathe deeply and enjoy your escape from the bustle of everyday life. Further afield, the North Devon and Cornwall beaches are famously sandy and great for dog walks. Some have restrictions during the summer months, but there are still plenty of dog-friendly Devon and Cornwall beaches to choose from all year round.

That’s all before we’ve mentioned the open moors and hills of the National Parks, the stunning coastal paths and all the dog-friendly cafes, pubs and restaurants you can build into your walks.

The Clawford Lakes Doggy Holiday Code

We keep the rules to a minimum in our simple Doggy Holiday Code, which is designed to ensure that all our guests enjoy their holiday:

Keep your dog on a lead when you’re not in our off-lead walking areas
Make sure you have your dog under control, especially when there are children around
Please don’t leave your dog alone in your accommodation
Don’t allow them onto beds or seats
Clean up after your pet and use the Fido bins around the park for disposing of your poo bags.

The good folk at the charity, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, also love dogs and bring much needed support and freedom to deaf people with their trained dogs. We’re so impressed with what they do that we have partnered with them to help raise funds for their work. For every holiday booking that includes a dog, we donate £5.00 to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
