Had a proper LUSH 3 night/2 day break a few weeks back with Clo and the girls @clawford.lakes . . . . . . Dunno what it is, but it really does feel like you’ve ‘gone somewhere’, where everything is better . . . . . . when you go Devon/Cornwall ❤️ We ate BARE pasty’s, scones, strawberries and of course did plenty of FISSSSSSHHHHIIIIINNNG ❤️.
Clawford was really really good, It was an entire small town all built around 18 lakes! The accommodation was PERFECT, there are two swimming pools (like PROPER ONES!), a Spa, a shop, a tackle shop, pub, restaurant, various kids play parks (sick bespoke wooden ones) and LOADS of green space, wild flowers, wildlife . . . . . . .Oh, and super dog friendly 🤯🏆❤️. Like I say, was a MAD ONE and I salute the vision behind it “wake up, go FISSSSSHHHHHHIIIIINNNNNGGG”. Of course a couple of three days was not enough but much like out in Thailand it was nice that it’s NO night fishing (that reset button everyday). It was all about those morning and evening periods and then going out to the beach and doing stuff during the day ❤️. We loved hunting the golden tench and Crucians on whips to hand and also having some ‘matches’ catching all manor of other species on some of the lakes where there are no carp present. Of course plenty of carp were also caught and I managed a nice one out of Clawford lake itself fishing a solid bag packed full of Monster Shrimp slammed right up against the Norfolk reed with the Bushwhacker. I also did a bit on ‘Mallard and Dragonfly’ catching them in the edge over Shrimp flake and pellet, on the lift float with corn and of course off the surface . . . . . Really fun fishing for really nice carp.
Massive Big Ups to all the other lovely couples and families we met during our stay – holiday VIBBBBBEEEEZZ ❤️ and to Tom and Ben who run the fishing, tackle shop etc 👊🏻🫡
I actually went back to the South West a couple of weeks later with the Old Man and for sure we’re going back down as a family over the summer holidays – like I say, it’s REAL GOOD DOWN THERE ❤️
