If you’re into carp fishing and are looking for somewhere to go for a short/long break with the family/other half this year then check out Clawford Lakes down in Devon.
It’s located not far from Holsworthy and offers fishing on 18 different lakes, as well as onsite accommodation, a tackle shop, bar restaurant, spa (perfect for a Rob Hughes ) plus loads more. I’ve just got back from four really enjoyable midweek days, staying in one of the lovely lodges, fishing short 3-4hour morning and evening sessions on the main specimen lake Clawford. It contains some lovely carp to upper-thirties, and being the off-peak season, the whole complex was really quiet.
There’s loads of great fishing available, the main two carp lakes being Clawford and Mallard (the later being the runs water). The whole complex comes well recommended, situated in a rural part of Devon, and it’s very clean and tidy, reasonably priced, with lots of ‘off-peak’ availability. If you fancy a closer look then keep an eye out for a forthcoming vlog I filmed on there, coming soon to the Avid Carp channel. It focuses on day-only fishing and is filmed on the main carp lake Clawford. Here’s a look at a few pictures from my trip ❤️
